These Terms of Use (the "Terms", also referred to as our Terms of Service) govern your use of Indian Steel Portal (the "Service"). During registration you must expressly accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the scope-of-service declaration in section 2A. An account cannot be created without that acceptance, and the acceptance is recorded against your account with a timestamp.
The Service is for GST-registered businesses in India. You confirm you are authorised to act for your company and that the GSTIN, PAN, bank and documents you submit are accurate.
Indian Steel Portal is a neutral venue that connects buyers and sellers and runs inquiries and auctions (reverse and forward). We are not a party to any trade, do not take title to goods, and do not guarantee any counterparty, price, quality or delivery. Deals are contracts between the buyer and seller.
Our role is limited to connecting a buyer with a seller. Indian Steel Portal introduces counterparties and hosts the record of the inquiry, the bidding, the ranking and the award. Once that introduction is made, the transaction is entirely between the two parties. This section prevails over anything to the contrary elsewhere in these Terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any transaction is limited to the subscription fees actually received by us from you in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of bargain, or any indirect or consequential loss.
After the introduction, the buyer and the seller complete all documentation and performance directly with each other. This includes, without limitation:

On completion of a deal concluded through the Service, we send a confirmation email to both parties from noreply@indiansteelportal.com. That email sets out the deal details — parties, material, grade, quantity, rate, GST, total, payment terms, price basis and delivery — together with a restatement of what we are and are not responsible for, and the documentation the parties must complete themselves. It is an automated notice sent for record purposes; it is not a contract, an invoice, or a confirmation by us that either party has performed. Replies to that address are not monitored; write to support@indiansteelportal.com instead.
Bids are binding offers. Reverse-auction L1 (lowest) and forward-auction H1 (highest) are determined by the rules shown at floatation (open/sealed, decrement/increment, soft-close). The inquiry creator awards at their discretion, recording a reason where they award above L1.
You will not post false information, manipulate bids, infringe others' rights, upload unlawful content, or use the Service for anything other than genuine steel trade. We may suspend accounts that breach these Terms.
The Service — its software and source code, design, page layout, text, graphics and logos, the “Indian Steel Portal” name, and the way its inquiries and auctions are set up and run (including the ranking, bidding, closing and award rules, the screens, comparison statements and deal documents) — belongs to Indian Steel Portal and is protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws. Using the Service does not give you any ownership of it.
You may use the Service only for your own genuine steel trade. You will not, and will not help anyone else to:
Search engines may index our public pages as allowed by our robots.txt file. Your own content and data stay yours as set out in section 5A. If you break this section we may suspend or close your account immediately and take legal action under Indian law, including the Copyright Act, 1957, the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and the Information Technology Act, 2000, to claim damages and stop the misuse.
Members who register with a personal email address (such as Gmail, Yahoo or Outlook) must provide their GST certificate, PAN card, a cancelled cheque with bank details, a photo of their place of business and their company profile or visiting card. Trading opens only after our team has verified them. These documents are seen only by our team and are deleted from our servers once checked, or after 30 days.
To protect genuine members we watch for signs of misuse - for example rates far away from the market, related accounts taking part in the same inquiry or auction, inquiries repeatedly closed without an award, or deals repeatedly declined. Where we find fake inquiries, auctions or rates, or other misuse, we may, with a written reason sent to you by email: (a) issue a warning; (b) restrict trading so the account is view-only; (c) suspend the account; or (d) close the account and stop sign-in. Deals already made stay on record. You may reply to any such notice to have it reviewed, and we may lift the action.
You are responsible for the listings, inquiries and messages you post. Report abusive content or counterparties to support@indiansteelportal.com; we review and act on reports, including removal and account action.
You keep ownership of the listings, inquiries, rates and other content you post. You allow Indian Steel Portal a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and process that content to run the Service — for example to show it to counterparties, rank bids and prepare deal records — and to use it in aggregated and anonymised form, such as price trends and market reports, that never identifies you or your company. How we collect, use and protect personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Registration is free. After the free trial shown in your account, floating inquiries, quoting, bidding and listing auctions need an active subscription. The plans (monthly or yearly), their prices and the length of the free trial are shown in your account under My subscription before you pay, and may be changed for future periods. GST is charged in addition, and a tax invoice is issued for every payment. We do not charge any listing, commission or success fee on the trades you conclude. A subscription period that has started is not refundable unless we agree otherwise in writing. Without an active subscription you can still see your own data and deal history.
You are responsible for your own tax invoicing, e-way bills, TDS/TCS and statutory compliance on trades you conclude.
The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for disputes between buyers and sellers. Section 2A applies in full.
You may stop using and delete your account any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach or legal reasons.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India; courts at your registered place of business or ours have jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version and date at the top show the latest change. If we make a material change, we will tell you on the Service before it applies, and continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
Queries, complaints and reports: write to our Grievance Officer below. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
