Indian Steel Portal ("we", "us", "our") operates the Indian Steel Portal website and mobile apps (the "Service"), a business-to-business marketplace where verified businesses buy, sell and auction steel. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It is our notice under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, and the Information Technology Act, 2000. By registering for or using the Service you agree to this policy.

We use the information you share with us to run, protect and improve Indian Steel Portal. In particular, we may use it to:
What we will never do: we will not sell or rent your personal data, we will not share it with third parties for their own advertising, and we will never reveal your company's identity in any published market insight.
Your choice: by accepting this policy at registration you consent to these uses. You can withdraw consent for promotional messages at any time from your profile or by writing to us. Uses that are essential to running the Service, keeping it safe and meeting the law continue while your account is active.
Other members. Buyers and sellers see the business details needed to trade: company name, city, verification status, and bids and terms as allowed by the inquiry creator's display settings. During a live inquiry or auction, the business contact details (contact person, phone and email) of the top 10 ranked participants are visible to the inquiry creator, and the creator's contact details are visible to those top 10 participants, so that serious bidders can clarify terms directly. Participants outside the top 10 do not see other members' contact details. Once a deal is awarded, both parties see each other's contact details, delivery address and the agreed terms.
Service providers. Companies that help us run the Service — cloud hosting, SMS/OTP, email delivery, document storage, and verification or payment partners — process data only on our instructions and under contract.
Authorities. We disclose information where required by Indian law, for example to GST authorities or under a court order.
Business transfer. If Indian Steel Portal is merged, acquired or restructured, your information may pass to the successor, who must continue to protect it under this policy.
Your data is stored on servers located in India. Where a service provider processes data outside India, we do so only as permitted by Indian law.
We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the Service or as required by law. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Manage account → Delete my account) or at indiansteelportal.com/delete-account. We erase your profile, KYC documents and personal data within 30 days of a verified request. Deal and invoice records may be kept for the period required by GST and tax law (generally up to 8 years), with personal identifiers kept to a minimum.
Data is sent over HTTPS/TLS, documents are access-controlled, and bank and ID numbers are masked in the interface. No method is 100% secure, but we apply reasonable, industry-standard safeguards. If a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
We use essential browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and protect your account. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
The Service is only for registered businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18.
You may ask to access, correct, update or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity. Write to our Grievance Officer (section 13). We respond within the timelines set by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
You cannot create an account without expressly accepting this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Use, and the scope-of-service declaration confirming that Indian Steel Portal only connects buyers and sellers and that all trade documentation is completed by the parties themselves. We record the date, time and version of that acceptance against your account, and you can see it on your profile page at any time.
When a deal you are party to is completed, we email both the buyer and the seller a confirmation with the deal details and a restatement of our role and responsibilities. These messages come from noreply@indiansteelportal.com, are necessary for the service you signed up for, and are not marketing. Your counterparty's business contact details appear in that email so that you can complete the documentation directly.
We may update this policy from time to time. The version and date at the top show the latest change. If we make a material change, we will tell you on the Service before it applies.
